Meet the dedicated leaders guiding Women Actions For Development and Solidarity (WADS) in serving communities across Kigoma

Mederine Ayubu 

Ms. M. Ayubu is the WADS Chairperson and has been leading women groups for the past six years and has the passion to empower women to recognize themselves and be involved in leadership and economic wellbeing in order to prevent violence against women and girls.

Executive Director

Subira Lendaiga

Ms. S. Mkumule Lendaiga  SERVES AS  THE   EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF  THE WOMEN ACTION  FOR DEVELOPMENT AND SOLIDARITY (WADS ) and The  Technical coordinator for the Disability Management Programme in Tanzania (DMP-T). 

She is a Physiotherapist and  supports  in coordinating  Disability support  activities  with Key disability  inclusion  actors, committees and networking in western part of Tanzania as the  Technical Coordinator of the medical Rehabilitation Programs  with The   Disability Management Programme  in Tanzania (DMP-T) and over the past 18 years  of experience she has worked with  International humanitarian Organizations, Faith based Humanitarian organizations , National and host community organizations for the past  in the refugee  community and Tanzanian host community , she has been managing programs with Major grants in the humanitarian setting, in the past she had different opportunities for  international and national  travels for technical conferences  with regards to medical rehabilitation , livelihood , PSN support and protection of persons with disabilities ,women and youth with specific needs and Managing major grants and Leadership roles . Her current role as The Executive Director she leads programs and supports in  preparing and  implementing strategic plans  of the Organization  and the specific committees , in coordination with the programs team she  develops proposals for fundraising and helps in leading the teams to ensure all Organizational objectives are met while implementing strategic plans for the sake of protecting the rights of women, girls , youth, children and persons with specific needs including persons with disabilities   and supporting their  identified  developmental initiatives and needs. She helps in implementing programs  that falls under The WADS organization and Disability actors  as follows:

– Health componentHealth education on management of   functional inabilities, disabilities through functional assessment and support, advocates for meaningful inclusion of persons with specific needs in the community, prevention and management of disabilities, awareness raising and referral.

  • Community mobilization and awareness on Protection of women girls, children, disadvantaged groups and youth rights (rights, Gender equality, and health education and development activities)

    – Advocacy: Through referrals and advocacy sessions with windows in relation to property inheritance (Legal awareness and linkage for legal assistance).

  • Community Education:  community based awareness  and support to improve social assistance  and involvement of the community in supporting the target groups : links with peer groups and community  health workers  during awareness 

– Livelihood   and leadership initiatives support:   women and girls groups are mobilized to formulate income generating groups in order to promote and boost their economic

  • status and income to support their families.

M.s S.Mkumule Lendaiga  fulfills her technical goal to ensure women ,girls ,children and youth with specific needs attain meaningful inclusion is all aspects of  right based services to  have equal opportunities  in the community as per community based protection guidelines , medical rehabilitation guidelines and global practices and standards. 

Programs Manager

Jacob Tunga

MR J. TUNGA is the WADS PROGRAMS MANAGER who supports  in managing  WADS programs in line with the strategic plans ,objectives and work plans . he supports in developing proposals in coordination with the management team  to ensure that WADS  secure resources to be able to implement the inteted  objectives . plays  an important  vital role where men are involved in desining programs that protects the rights of women ,girls ,youth and children to be free from any forms of violence . he is well expereinced in  supporting community economic and social needs as a qulaified social worker ,also with  a community Economic Development professional of wich his professional background  helps the WADS team to capture needs and interventions  with regards to

social and economic interventions 

His  previous eperenices over 19  year of practice in the community need social economic support include : management roles , coordination roles , supervion roles with regards to  social work lectures, Non Forma Education ,  Trainer of HIV awareness and prevention for youth and women programs , Livelihood and social economic development support with diffrent International organizations, National insitutions, faith based Organization  and colleges as an instructor at the social work colleges in Tanzania.

He had many opportunities to attend International and national HIV trainings , Livelihood, qualitative data analysis ,  and Social workers forum  professional froums within the country and international forums , Genderbased violence prevention training  and curriculum development. 

 

M.R J.Tunga is passionate about his Career Objectives to pursue a challenging career in a progressive environment and he values learning, innovation and creativity are encouraged, where my knowledge and skills can be enhanced to their maximum potentials to contribute to the overall success and growth of the WADS organization and the public at large.

Youth Leader

Zai Kihembwe

Ms.Z. Kihembwe she is the Youth group leader has been involved in youth livelihood groups in the faith based organization and groups of which she was the focal person to initiate their economic initiatives  for the past 1 year experience with youth groups .   being a Youth leader makes her fulfil her purpose to ensure her fellow youth group members are fully integrated in the economic initiatives and all relevant youth integration opportunities within the community and she is eager to see youths are free from all forms of violence and thus become productive economically to be able to help their families for future well being.

Livelihood Officer

Suzana Malumbe

Ms S. Malumbe is The WADS Livelihood Officer and has been the Focal person of the women livelihood groups in terms of income generating activities. She has been advocating and leading the women income generating groups for 10 years and has the passion to see women are empowered economically so that can be free from all forms of violence at the community level .

Public relations officer

Martin Nago

Mr. M. Nago is the WADS Public Relations Officer and has a professional background in relation to Rural Community Development. In addition to the professional background he also attended different courses on Cooperative Management for three months and on job trainings on Data entry using PROGRES, Peace Education, Refugee camp Community Services and training on Finance and Logistic management and activities.

 

He has experience in the need community Services especially Refugees and Asylum seekers over 10 years in different Refugee camps and holding centers in Kigoma Regional, Kagera and Tabora and  in Tanzania  host community ;

 

he has been working in Saving and credit Cooperative Societies, CBOs, Community Groups and NGOs as initiator, consultant and manager. Initiated  and managed SACCOS  such as HOPE SACCOS, HURUMA SACCOS, and MUUNGANO SACCOS

he initiated Community Groups as follows :TUJIJENGE Women group, Lake Tanganyika Women Group, Azania Vijana Kazi Group (Bakeries).

 
His working Experiences include: Managerial roles of SACCOS,ware house  management ,logistics , Supervision of  Store keepers, Tall creaks, Security Guards to main store and Camp stores, operations roles  of

MINERAL INVESTMENT LTD builds good relationship with the company, government and community, procurement roles ,data verifications , Distance   learning facilitation  and has over 10 years of working experience in the refugee setting and Host community with international and national NGOs and CBOs .

He is passionate about building good relations with key actors within the country and international wise  in order to maintain good practices and approaches with actors.
