Women Actions For Development and Solidarity (WADS) is a non-governmental, non-religious, non-political, and non-profit organization founded and registered in 2009 under the NGO Act in Tanzania. 

WADS works to protect the rights of women, girls, children, and youth, and supports developmental initiatives for disadvantaged groups including refugees. 
 
Currently, WADS operates in Kigoma Region, with minimal interventions in other regions depending on resources and needs.

"Building stronger communities together - moments from our recent community meeting"
WADS representative participated during international Day of women at Kigoma Municipal - Tanzania which was held jointly in collaboration with the other organizations and was organized by the Government at the Municipal level. Event was held on 6th March 2026 .

Together with other NGO representatives from Tanzania main land and from Zanzibar.
The training aimed at improving the knowledge and build capacity on safety, resource mobilization , monitoring documentation & reporting and effectiveness of new Human Rights Defenders in Tanzania.

Gender Equality and Human Rights

Gender Equality and Human Rights program focuses on promoting equal rights, dignity, and opportunities for all people regardless of gender. The program works to eliminate discrimination, gender-based violence, and harmful social norms through community education, advocacy, and capacity building.

We support women, girls, and vulnerable groups by strengthening their access to justice, leadership opportunities, education, and economic empowerment. Through partnerships with communities and institutions, we promote inclusive policies and human rights awareness to build a fair and safe society for everyone.
